Buh-bye Training Wheels

Angelo, having spent the week volunteering at "Lose the Training Wheels" felt confident to take "the bigs" out today. What a Dad!

A little spill. Notice Tre is running to help her. He's a very thoughtful little guy.

He's almost got it. He's very determined to get it sooner than later. I think the requests for biking tomorrow have been rather insistent. He also took a little spill. Good thing Mama was there with the first aid kid. We had a little blood, but nothing a little antiseptic and bandaid couldn't fix.

We just got back from the doctor. The rash pictures from early are extremely mild compared to now. Doc's calling it Fifth Disease.

Great Strides (5/3)

Again, this year, we took part in the Great Strides walk. Both G & I were volunteers. Grandma came up for the weekend and donned a purple shirt for our team as well. I was amazed at the turnout. They grilled up 500 hamburgers and were completely out.

Being overtaxed lately, we didn't get our fundraising letter out pre-walk. So, we figure, we'll help out after the fact. The goal for this year was $200,000. I know we can get at least a little closer. We have until June 1. If you don't get a letter/email from Giuliana and want to help out, drop me an email. It's really easy and can all be done online.

Hat Parade (5/1)

In the spirit of integrating curriculum, G's class had a Hat Parade. The first part of the assignment was to make/procure a hat. Trip to Hobby Lobby, check. Lots of puff balls, sequins and glue. Check. Hat complete the night before it was due. Check.

Then they wrote about. They learned hat songs in music. And, they even made invitations for the grown ups/families to come and see it. The day of, they talked about eachother's hats and modeled their own.

Going on a Bug Hunt! (4/29)

Tre's spring program was "K___ goes on a Bug Hunt!"

It was so cute. There was even a "wavin' time." Tre informed me after the fact that "when the guitars get up on stage, wavin' time is over."

This of course was in the beginning. He was standing by his friend, R. It was hilarious to watch them. They were pointing at us moms and giggling.



Because the think of everything, the staff had put up photo ops all over the place...


After her extended potty break, Ali returned for her photo op.

Cubbie & Sparks Awards (4/23 & 4/30)

For some strange reason, this was his pose for the evening. All photos he know I was taking have his hands at his face. I was in the total wrong place to capture him receiving his award.
Giuliana got a ribbon for completing a book. :) Don't you just love her shoes? They're a size 1, which fits in another brand...such is life. She loves them and wears them everywhere.

Angelo's birthday...yes, the big 4-0! (4/26)

Not surprinsing whatsoever, Angelo wanted to go on a massive cache binge for his birthday. I think we pulled 13 that day- I'm sure he'll comment if I'm incorrect in my number. ;)

You can see him standing right by the river, pointing. Uhm, yeah, he was there to see if he could walk across the river. It was a little fast for that. And, knowing us, you know we couldn't stop there!



We tooled around and yes, finally found the other side. And, ofcourse nabbed the cache.

Strep Boy

Poor boy child. The pictures really don't do justice to his poor skin. I'd never seen a strep rash before this one. The doctor said it looked a lot like Fifths Disease, but swabbed just in case. He's had 2 doses of antibiotics and is cleared to return to school tomorrow (which means I can go to work). Surprisingly though, the skin looks worse today. I did phone the doctor's office just in case. They confirmed that he's no longer contagious.

Hawgs In Overdrive

Gone are all the ducks swimming in the water...

Hellllloooooo HAWGS! Theme this year: Party in Overdrive!

This year's float: (No clue why it's a rabbit) It was escorted by a hoard of motorcycles and a couple of the pocket bikes. Being in front of it all, we don't have the music stuck in our heads this year. ;) Not to mention, the music opportunity comes wide open with the theme.



Ali really wanting out of her "pack pack." But check out the tat! (I know my mother will love that.)


The Bigs were tickled to be banner holders. Tre mainly helped us. I say "us" because halfway through, I sent him to his Daddy because I was out of answers. ;)

Giuliana was thrilled when they ran out of green bandanas, as it meant she got the purple one instead. Thank you Mr. Doug for showing up. Which, btw, our kids are complete and total fans of Mr. Doug and Mrs. Stephanie.

And she's an odd duck- tonight at dinner, after she had finished her nachos and quesadilla, she was drinking the salsa straight out of her ramiken. Angelo offered her a spoon, which she took and continued to eat it- straight! She also couldn't get enough of the guach.

Jumping subjects...at work, earlier this evening, while waiting for Angelo to get there, one of the guys commented that even if I wasn't around he'd know who's kids the littles were. They all agreed how much the kids look like me. I wonder if they still think that after seeing Angelo when he came to pick them up?
