What's in a name?

Ok, so it's been established that Tre and Ali like to push eachother's buttons. So, it should be no surprise the conversation I overheard while they were eating lunch today.

He was wearing his Star Wars pj's (yes, it was a lazy day and we didn't go anywhere). He was explaining to her that when he's a grownup, he plans to change his name to Yoda. Yes, Yoda. He was very convincing. Later though, when he heard me telling Tonya about it on the phone, he claimed he was "just kidding."

On another note, Ali has chosen to use the potty 1 whole time today. At which point, she wanted mommy to jump up and down and cheer "Yeah ALI!" Hmmm...I seem to recall another girl child doing the same thing. Seriously. She knows the HOW. She just doesn't want to. I've even gone so far as briberly with things like swimming lessons (which she desperately claims she wants every time we pass the Y's pool). Some day.

Giuliana's program is tonight. The title is "Education is the Key." She has a speaking part. She is speaker 14. She says she doesn't like speaking in front of people. However, she gets a speaking part on a regular basis and, she's GOOD at it.

The Festivities

I could not believe the amount of posing she did this year. Total crack up! She was thrilled with all her presents. I found an especially obnoxious pair of pants on clearance at Target that I'm sure we'll see a lot of. They are a turquoise-ish color with bright rainbows, etc. Ali has a thing for brightly colored things, the more obnoxious the pattern, the better. I knew she'd love the pants.

She also got her first Barbie & Barbie clothes.

This picture blew me away. She's such a big girl.

In a rare turn of events, she actually ate her cake this year. :)

The bigs ofcourse love birthday cake, or "Happy Cake" as Giuliana used to call it.

Ali is 3!

Normally, I'd have posted this picture this morning. However, unlike most birthday mornings, all 3 had school this morning. Great, right? Well, it was also my morning to be the room mom for Tre's party. So, my child free time wasn't child free and I didn't get to the blog. In a short while, I'll probably post pics of her opening her presents and cake too. :)

Rare moments...

Somtimes, I think they fight all the time. Then, they do this: Earlier today was hilarious. I was reminding Ali about her birthday (yes, it was in relation to potty training). I said, "Remember, you're going to be 3 tomorrow." She says, "OH, 3, RIGHT!"

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

I was such a mean mommy today. It was high 60's. So, when Giuliana got home, I shoved them out the back door with popsicles in hand. I got the "mom, do we really have to be outside." Uhm, when it's 67 degrees in February, yes, you do!

Then, I realized that it was a perfect day to have the camera out. :)

I almost had to post a picture of Ali sleeping, just so you could see her fabulous fashion statement today (which you see in the tracks picture). I had a moment of panic when I heard Giuliana squeal "Bitty!" I couldn't believe I wouldn't have heard her get up and run outside. Nope, she was just looking out our window (which was open like every other one in the house).

Being a 5 year old boy, this is the picture Tre wanted me to get.

As usual, Giuliana required no posing. She did all her own. I liked this pic best because of the way her eyes are smiling.

He swears he's not tired. The heaviness of his eyelids suggests differently to me though.

For fun and because I've never done it, we went to the tracks. I have a lot of shots I'd like to try. Eventually. We ofcourse got busted by Daddy getting home from work.

Wow, think we're getting a little storm?
