Go Fireballs!

I made a rooky error and tried using the "sports" setting on my camera. We'll just file that away as a don't do again.

This first one if practicing the butt to gutt box out for the rebound.

This is the "OUTLET!" for the rebounder.

Playing the BIG D. Seriously. I'm pretty sure her gal was at least a head taller and probably a 4th grader (at least). She hustled.

Working on the offsense. I explained to her that this is the time to be sneaky and break away without her knowing.
And as far as other members of the family go...
Tre just ate a sandwich! Yep, he's doing great. He's back to just having tylenol as needed.
Ali is full of energy and has been playing puppy most of the morning.
Angelo is stir crazy and ready to get out and enjoy the beautiful day. :)

Addition to our patient roster...

Because things we're progressing the way they were, we now have had to add a patient.

Yep, Giuliana has strep. Honestly, at first, I thought perhaps it was "empathy." She wasn't showing any signs of fever and bursting with energy. Oh, my. Hand me the bad mommy baton. I set her up for a strep culture, thinking she'd be back at school tomorrow. By the time we got to the office, she had a 102 fever. Seriously!

Tre had been doing great. In fact, so great that when the liquid lortab was frozen at 6:30 this morning, he didn't notice that it was tylenol he got. He played a few minutes of Wii. Rested. Another dose of Tylenol at 10:30. 11:30ish, I make the near fatal mistake of telling him to get dressed. He was tired and melted down. Melting down of course had horrid consequence on his throat. He couldn't stop crying. We tried the lolli. Tried the shower. And, even called the doc's emergency number (we're talking major freak out). After 10 minutes in the shower, he could handle the lolli. 2 minutes later, he's ok to sit. 3 minutes after, he's ready to jump around and play with his sisters.

This Mama is exhausted.

Tre update- day 2

He's doing great today! We've followed the doctor's orders with every 4 hour dosing of meds. I'm also quite thankful for tetracaine lollipops. He's eaten quite a bit today. While it's icecream, gogurts and popsicles, he's swallowing.

Ali is ofcourse sure she's sick now too. But last night at dinner was the funniest! "Come on guys, this is fabulous eating! Come on guys, it's fun!"

Buh-bye

Today, we said buh-bye to Tre's tonsils and adenoids. He's been quite the trooper. He was tickled to have his picture taken in the kids waiting room. It's a carpeted room, with toys and tv. There are little areas for each patient/their parents marked by a letter. The doctors & nurses come in and visit- very child friendly.

He spent a long time in the first phase of recovery. The doctor came out to talk to me at a little after 9:00. He said his tonsils were one step short of massive. He also drained some fluid off his right ear. I thought I'd get to go right back after the post-surg consult. Nope. About an hour and half later, he was ready for phase 2 Thankfully, they sent word that he was just really sleepy. I went in to phase 2, hearing his cries. I was extrememly thankful to see that my friend, Sarah, was his phase 2 nurse.
Being the mommy, I was quick to jump into the recliner and take him into my arms. Within a few minutes, I started getting really hot. In my head, I'm cursing hot flashes. Then it hit me, I'm vagling (no clue if I spelled that right). One look told them I was in trouble. In a flash, I was reclined and having O2 while Angelo comforted Tre. It was suggested that perhaps the pressure/weight of him was too much on my belly, but that I wouldn't notice the pain because I was so focused on him.
Here he is, finally settled at home. Round the clock pain meds and the nice lollipops that numb their throat.

Another day, another doctor visit.

This morning, we had to go in. Again.

On the way in, Tre was hurrying (for me) because it was freezing cold. There was gravel on the parking lot mixed with salt. Poor little guy tripped. He's got a blood blister on his palm. So, the nurse, Michelle, was the hero and gave him a yellow bandaid shaped like a crayon with "Crayola" in black. Ofcourse, Big Al then "had an owie" on her hand too. So, Michelle gave her one too.

As Dr. M is examing Al, he starts asking her questions. He asks her what color her bandaid is. She says "black." He looks at me. Asks her a couple other colors and comments on her dressing herself and being bright and then asked the bandaid color again (and specifically pointing to the yellow), yep, she picked out the yellow. He and I both thought it was interesting that the black was the color she first picked. I know if asked the question, I'd have said "yellow."

Tre is "looking puny" according to Dr. M. Totally true. So true to the fact that he is actually napping right now. He officially has croup. Please pray. He's scheduled for a tonsilectomy on Monday. We might have to reschedule.

Ali is fine, just a case of the crud. He wants me to watch her carefully though as respiratory things tend to snowball in little ones. But the good news is it's not bronchitis.

It's our Nana's Birthday!

So, we all sat for a picture (and to show off our "piggie tails").

As you can probably see in the pic, Tre's not feeling all that well. He sounds like he has croup. Al has gone from an ear infection to a cough that sounds like bronchitis. Thankfully, Giuliana's immune system is working well. :) We're headed back to the doctor tomorrow (repeats for Ali & I that is, 1st fo Tre).

Inspite of illness and fatigue, we had a great day today. We played games and went shopping for a friends upcoming wedding. It was rough. ;) She "made" me go to the scrapbooking store to find paper for her invites.

I'm going to just submit this now. Otherwise, I won't get it posted and part of my goals for the year is to be better about the blog. :)

A day for 1sts...

I'm so proud of all 3 kids at this very moment.

Ali actually ASKED to go potty twice today (and yes, one of them was for poop). She has kept control of her pants all day. Perhaps soon she'll want to wear panties!

The bigs both had dentist appointments today. Both cooperated! They had great check ups and were very patient while waiting. :D

Tears.

My parents just left for the airport. Giuliana was looking out the window, watching them go. I saw just enough of her face to see she was crying. She explained to me that summer was too far away and it hurts that she won't see them for so long.

My baby is growing up.
